Healed of Choriocarcinoma!

Having known Bridget for many years in my capacity as a medical doctor, I’d like to share with you how a miracle occurred in Bridget’s life that left her free of choriocarcinoma, a rare malignant and aggressive cancer of the placenta.

It all began in April 2002 when Bridget had a miscarriage after being pregnant for 7 ½ weeks. After she had the dead tissue in her uterus removed from the miscarriage, she was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma. The obstetrician explained that the tumour which had been removed from the uterus had grown from nothing to the size of a 12 week old baby in just 3-4 weeks!

Bridget and her husband asked everybody in our Assembly to pray for this situation. We all brought Bridget before God as described in the Bible, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (JAMES 5:16). She knew that the Lord was in control and that it was going to work out for the best.

Due to the urgency of this critical situation, the doctors wanted to start a chemotherapy treatment within two days. An oncology specialist in Australia informed Bridget that she was going to die of this cancer within a very short period of time. He went on explaining that only chemotherapy could help her. He gave Bridget a 70% chance of survival should she start immediately.

Following in-depth advice and continuing in prayer, Bridget refused chemotherapy and started on a natural diet. She received information about a private clinic in England, offering intravenous administration of vitamin B17 (also contained in apricot kernels and other foods) and high doses of Vitamin C plus. At this point in time, the clinic in the UK specialised in nutritional medicine for the treatment of cancer and Bridget decided to go to Britain.

Prior to her journey another blood test was performed, which was 1 ½ weeks after being released from hospital. Against all the doctors' expectations and due to everybody joining in prayer, the pregnancy hormone count went down dramatically – from 19,400 units per litre (four days after her operation) to 521 units per litre (within just two weeks)! An explanation for this quick decrease of the pregnancy hormone was not given by the doctors. This result increased the faith of Bridget and her husband, and they knew that the Lord had started working a miracle even before going to Britain. “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee” (EXODUS 15:26).Blood through microscope after prayerBlood through microscope before prayer

From a medical point of view, I was stunned about these miracles taking place and was able to remain in close contact with Bridget during her stay in Britain. During our Annual General Meeting in Cornwall, we had several times of prayer whereby the senior pastors as well as the entire Assembly came together, asking God for Bridget’s complete healing and recovery.

Bridget then undertook 3 weeks of the intravenous vitamin treatment. Her recovery was monitored by examining the blood under the microscope and by assessing the condition of Bridget’s immune system. Upon completion of the 3 week treatment, the leading doctor was impressed with Bridget’s recovery and confirmed the treatment could not have been so successful without her faith in Jesus Christ. He acknowledged the prayer she had received during the AGM in Cornwall to have worked a miracle that could not be explained by the treatment alone. He was also convinced that Bridget’s chance of surviving the first lot of chemotherapy would have been very slim - her immune system had been virtually non-existent at the time.

On a check-up visit after our AGM in Cornwall the doctors confirmed the tremendous improvement as evidenced by further blood tests. This is the stage where conventional hospitals discharge their patients as being free of cancer! In my view, it is incredible how this all happened over a few weeks. After her return to Australia, Bridget fell pregnant again and gave birth to a healthy child, yet another miracle. Praise the Lord! Faith in the name of Jesus Christ as described in the Bible along with works will be rewarded by God as He has proven it again and again.

I feel privileged having been able to witness God's incredible guidance and healing power in the amazing testimony of Bridget's dramatic healing. The Bible clearly promises: “All things are possible to him that believeth” (MARK 9:23) and “(in the name of Jesus) they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (MARK 16:18).
