Confessing God's Word Brings Healing To Ingrown Toenail
I would like to recommend a fantastic book that really helped me with faith and believing, and also with healing!
Recently I got an ingrown toenail that caused me a lot of pain and also complicated a lot of things. At the beginning it wasn’t so bad, and I only felt a twinge of pain from time to time, but as the time went by, it got infected and pus started coming out; the skin around my toe was red and swollen. I started limping a lot as it hurt whenever I put pressure on it, and I also stopped doing any sports for over a month. We tried lots of different antibiotics and also various footbaths that were meant to draw out the infection, but not much happened. The footbaths helped a little, but the antibiotics did not do anything at all to fight the infection.
My foot started to get worse and it started to affect me with headaches and also mood swings. I started to spend a lot of time lying down in my room as I either felt sick, or I was in a lot of pain. Later I was shocked to see a lump growing beside my nail; I was frightened as I had no idea what it was as I had never seen anything like it!
One night my sister came into my room, and gave me a book that she said really helped her! The book is called ‘What You Say is What You Get’ by the author Don Gossett. As I started reading it, I found it captivating! The book contains an incredible amount of testimonies and scriptures! Every scriptural point Don Gosset makes he backs up with so many scriptures that it takes a long time to get through all of them.
Something that really stood out to me was his ‘Never Again List’. Don Gosset wrote this list to overcome the habit of ‘negative speaking’. The list consists of 12 points that he declares he will never do, and each point is supported by at least one scripture. The point that helped me was:
‘Never Again will I confess sickness, for “With His stripes I am healed” (
ISAIAH 53:5), and Jesus “Himself took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses” (
To be healed from sickness we need to believe that God has healed us already! In time you will take possession of your healing, and then you won’t need to believe for the healing anymore as you will be able to feel it with every breath you take. Our words don’t have the power in themselves, but they make it possible for God’s power to work on our behalf.
I have a slight problem with confessing that I have something, before I know that I really do have it by seeing or feeling it. Such as, if I see that my toe is all black and painful, then it’s hard for me to confess that I’m healed, in contrary to if I see my toe and it looks absolutely normal. Some people think that if they see that they have not been healed, that they are lying then if they speak in faith saying that they have been. However, since God cannot lie, we also cannot lie if we say what God says!
AMOS 3:3 says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” If we don’t agree with God’s Word we will never be able to walk with God in blessing, triumph, and abundant supply. If we say “I can’t” or “I’m afraid” when God’s Word tells us that we can and that we shouldn’t fear anything then our words are out of harmony with God’s Word; we are disagreeing with the Lord!
I confessed that it wouldn’t be painful anymore and started to do sports again, then my foot got much better! First, the lump of skin fell off, and when I went swimming the chlorine totally cleaned out my toe and it looked so much better! If you hadn’t known that I had a problem with the toenail, you would not have noticed anything!
The power of confessing that one has been healed is amazing! What you confess, you possess. If it is a negative confession, the results will be negative. However, if it’s a positive confession, the results will be Godward.
Don’t spoil your confession by wavering between the positive “Yes” and the faltering “No!”
JAMES 1:6,7 declares, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
When your heart gives a positive “Yes” to the Word, positive results will begin to occur in your life.
In His Love,
