Burned Leg Healed

Hello everybody,

My name is Anja and I would like to share with you how God healed me from a burn right above my ankle while on holidays in Goa.

It was during Christmas holidays in 2008 that my sister Annette and her husband Gary, Henry, Tom and Lorraine (my boss and his wife), and myself had decided to visit Susan and her family in Calangute, Goa. Henry, who has been to Goa a couple of times before (see his testimony Freed from the Occult!) got to know Susan two years before when visiting Goa with his wife and daughter. Susan heard a lot about the gospel back then and as she already during her schooldays decided it would be better for her to believe in God than in Hinduism, got saved according to the Bible in ACTS 2:38 the very last day of Henry’s stay. So here we were coming to Calangute to visit our sister in Christ and her family. Due to different circumstances the six of us had done our bookings for this holidayat different times and we ended up staying in three different hotels. To get around we hired three Enfields (great motorbikes!) and every morning one of the blokes would come to pick me up at my hotel as we always had breakfast together at Gary and Annette’s place.

The second morning when Henry came to pick me up I burned my lower leg on the hot exhaust of the bike. It was so painful! I prayed immediately that the pain would go and that there would not be any blisters and everything would heal perfectly. I hadn’t even made Henry stop the bike nor did I see the burn myself. When we arrived at the hotel I had a look at my leg. The pain was gone but you could see the wound. Everything was fine and no blister appeared.

I burned my lower leg on the hot exhaust of the bike. It was so painful!

So we started to enjoy our time .... sunshine, beaches, water, bike tours.... it was amazing. When we left Susan’s place one evening I stepped over a big tree trunk lying in front of the house and guess what – I scratched my burn wound open! It was bleeding. The thin burned skin had been ripped off and the wood had left several deep scratches in the still fragile flesh. There was a lot of pain but I praised the Lord and confessed the healing I had already received the other day. (1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.")

The pain ceased quickly and I believed in the healing. I left the wound undressed and went into the ocean with it exposing the wound to salt, sand and sun as well as had it covered in dust when riding the bike. It only took a day and the wound looked very messy. There was puss and watery liquid running out of it. Annette got me an Aloe Vera gel which I applied now and again, but that was all. Every day I confessed my healing and we would have a look at the wound waiting to see the healing progressing.

A few days later we were standing in front of Susan’s house where we met for our Sunday meeting and to take communion, when suddenly pain shot into my legright from the burn wound up to my knee. It was so powerful and painful that I was not able to bear any weight on my foot. I didn’t want to believe it. How, after all those days without any pain, could there now be such a change? We started the meeting and despite the pain I began playing the guitar (how we got that guitar is a miracle in itself – but that is another story) for all of us to praise the Lord with choruses and hymns. At the end of the meeting we all stood before the Lord to take communion. I had to put all my weight onto the healthy leg.

You need to know, that when we are taking the Bread and the Cup in remembrance of what Christ has done for us, we always give thanks after we eat the bread and after we drink the cup. When it came to thank the Lord for the cup I said, “Thank you Lord for the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins. I thank you Lord for the power in the blood of Christ. I thank you for the life in the blood. I thank you for the resurrection power in the blood and Lord I thank you for the healing power in the blood of Christ.”  (JOHN 6:53-56 "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me and I in him.") The moment I thanked the Lord for the healing power in the blood of Christ the pain left my leg. I could feel it coursing down from my knee to the open wound and leaving my body. Praise the Lord! What an experience that was! I told the others what just had happened and we all thanked the Lord. From that day onwards we could witness the healing. Every day the wound looked better and better and by the time we arrived back home the wound was completely healed up.

Today, 5 years later, you have to know that I had an injury on my leg in order to recognise it. The skin is slightly lighter and doesn’t tan so well but you can’t see any burn marks at all, only a few scratch marks. Praise the Lord for his wonderful healing! All the glory goes to God!

Jesus is the healer indeed and the Lord our Great Physician!

Thank you for sharing your testimony. When you just prayed for your burn and then hit it on a tree trunk and it ripped the skin open, you said (what I would have said too) I can't believe it, I just prayed for healing! But you still kept positive and thanked God and confessed healing. Thank you for sharing that. I am going through something myself, and I struggle with fear and doubt-- one minute I'm confident about my situation the next minute I see things getting worse and my faith is challenged and my heart breaks. I know that nothing is too hard for God, no matter how much worse the situation-- he can still restore it back to normal. I fear even as I write this; anxiety about my situation. I don't know why but I feel afraid to even ask, but would you please pray for me? I desire physical healing. Even though I pray for healing, my faith is being challenged.

Dear Amy,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding my testimony. How nice to hear from you. I can see that you have a lot on your mind and I hope I can help you a bit to get a more confidence and faith for your situation.
I would like to share with you WHY I could stay positive when I just ‘saw my healing destroyed’ before my very eyes. I believe, that the miracle is in my mouth (and yours too of course!!). You know, when you come in a situation you can’t handle like disease or any other trial in your life, there are two different sources talking to you planting ideas and imaginations into your mind. The first one of course is Satan, pointing out to you ‘You are sick! You are in trouble! That’s it… there is no help. The other voice is from God, telling us that “With his stripes we ARE healed.” (Isa 53:4,5).
Now Satan with all the symptoms and disease says one thing and God says another thing. But what really matters now is: What are you going to say about it? Are you going to confess what the devil has done to you? Or will you take your stand by the Word of God and confess what God has said?

This is important. You have to make a stand and then confess (SPEAK) what you know and believe to be the truth. God says, ‘Let the weak SAY I am strong! Let the poor SAY I am rich!’ This also counts for the sick: Let the sick SAY I am healed!
It will work for anything that troubles you!
From the beginning of times God SPOKE things into being. So can we if we take God’s Word and make it our own. In Hosea 14:2 it says that we have to take words with us and turn to the Lord. It has to be God’s Word we bring before Him in prayer to remind God on His promises (Isa 43:26). God will act on His promises in His Word. That’s why we can claim and confess healing even so we can’t see it right away and then we can give thanks to the Lord in faith. Give thanks to the Lord ALWAYS!!

See, that it what I did and you can do it too. You mention that you struggle with fear and doubt. Make another one of God’s promises yours: God has NOT given us the spirit of FEAR; BUT of POWER, and of love and of a SOUND MIND. (2 Tim 1:7). What you call anxiety is Satan playing around with your emotions. But God is stronger and we already have won the victory over the devil in Christ Jesus. Satan is the looser and he knows it. Whenever he comes to trouble you just keep on telling him that he has to go. RESIST the devil (by telling him the Word of God) and he will flee from you (Jam 4:7). Jesus did the same when He was tempted by the devil in the wilderness (Mt 4:1-11).

Sorry for writing so many scriptures but if you look them up and make them your promise of God and confess it with your mouth a miracle will happen. You have to come to God and ask Him for your healing, seek Christ the healer (not the healing!) and knock (remind the Lord) again and again to perform His Word in your life. (Mt 7:7) In verse 8 it says that everyone (that means YOU, Amy!) will receive when he asks. Don’t doubt the Lord! God is not a man that He should lie!!! If you have faith, and doubt not, it shall be done and all things, whatsoever you ask in prayer BELIEVING, you shall receive! (Mt 21:21,22).

My husband and I will keep you in prayer for God promised that if two of us shall agree on praying for any thing together in faith, it shall be done for them by God the Father. Where two or three are gathered together in my (Jesus’) name, there am I (Jesus) in the midst of them.
Dear Amy, if you would like our prayer team to pray for you too, it would be great if you could tell me a bit more about your health problems and what you are seeking healing for. Even if you would only pass it on to me on my private email it would make prayer much more specific and efficient.

Some things I wrote to you here are taken from a little booklet by John Osteen ‘There is a Miracle in Your Mouth’. It is very uplifting and will surely boost your faith for healing and any other problem in your life.
I don’t know if you belong to a church where you could go and ask for prayer according to the Word by laying on of hands or even being anointed with oil (Jam 5:13-15). If so, this would definitely be a very effective approach.
Thanks again for writing in and opening your life a wee bit to me. If you need to talk just get in touch. I’ll be there with a listening ear and hopefully some spirit lead help and advice and friendship.

Take care and claim what you know anyway: There is NOTHING too hard for GOD and by his stipes we ARE healed.

With love in Christ,
Anja
