Baby Born with "God's Protection" Shield - literally!

Hello everyone,

My name is Emma from Cape Town, South Africa, with this testimony I would like to give God the glory for all our children, Alexander, Christopher, Emily and in particular for our fourth child Victoria who was born healthy despite extremely difficult and dangerous circumstances. Her chances were not all that great to start off with, but let me explain....

The story begins just after our second son, Christopher, had died very unexpectedly on the 23rd of August 2003. He was only 6 months old when he passed away, and for a long time I struggled to understand why, but in God's very own mysterious way, He answered my prayers powerfully and spoke peace to my heart in this matter. This is what I would like to share with you in the hope that it might help one of you out there.

Two months after Christopher's death, I was pregnant again with our third child; Emily, who was born on the 3rd of August 2004' within a year of Christopher's death. During one of the early pregnancy scans we found out that I had a benign, but rather large ovarian cyst. I took advice and decided to decline an operation, and rather to stick to a very healthy diet, supplemented by apricot kernels rich in vitamin B17, and indeed the tumour shrunk and didn't cause too many problems. Finally, our Emily was born and since the kids grow up so quickly, and I was still young and fit (only 38), we tried again for another child. Again, I got pregnant very quickly, but this time the cyst caused major problems.

Twice I was rushed to hospital by ambulance, and the second time it was so severe that I lost consciousness. When I woke up, a doctor explained that the tumour had twisted, was bleeding extensively, and that they had to remove the ovary. The chances of survival for the baby were not too good, at that time I was approximately 10 weeks into my pregnancy. However, due to the many scans that were taken I knew that the pregnancy with this little baby, who was given such slim chances of survival, was counted from the 23rd of August 2005, which is the same day that Christopher had died two years earlier.

And so, I prayed to God that the child would live, that all the morphine, the anaesthetic and whatever else wouldn't harm the baby, and in my vision I imagined a “protective shield” around the baby in the womb.

After the operation the wound healed well despite the growing belly and, the baby in my belly grew very big. In the morning hours of the 6th of June 2006 we were rushing back to the hospital, but this time to give birth…

The midwife on duty was of the old school with heaps of experience, but little compassion... After the baby was born, she took baby Victoria to give her some extra oxygen. Later however the midwife came back to speak to me. What she said then made me cry; in all her years of experience she had never seen a baby born with an extra skin around it. She said it was like a “protective bag”, which she had to open up first! I leave it up to you to decide, but I just know God answered my prayer and that this was the above-mentioned “protective shield”, which God had put in place!

Victoria is now 15 months old, healthy and happy and she is truly “victorious”. One day she will meet her brother Christopher in heaven and isn't it amazing that on the same date when his life ended, hers was conceived... ROMANS 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
