The Fulfilment of God's Promise
Israel was called to be a servant nation. God said:
"Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified."(ISAIAH 49:3). British-Israel is no cause for national pride. We read of Israel in ISAIAH 43:10:
"Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he..."
Some cry "Heresy!" at the mention of British-Israel. But there is nothing heretical in the concept. Somewhere Israel must be found, God's witness nation, the custodian of the true Bible Christianity and of God's Word, the Bible. Only one group of peoples answers to this description, and they are the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic nations.
Here are some prophetic marks of Israel which were to be evident in the last days, that is, the Christian age.
Israel to be a great and mighty nation: God said to Abraham, the grandfather of Jacob-Israel:
"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee..." (GENESIS 12:2).
Israel to be a nation and a company of nations:
"And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins" (GENESIS 35:11).
Israel is not the church. Some denominations confuse Israel with the church. Paul writes:
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved... For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God" (ROMANS 10:1,3).
Because the Church is the Body of Christ - saved, the ecclesia - these remarks are obviously not applicable. But they do apply to national Israel. Israel is not the Jew. The word Jew is not introduced into scripture until after the Kingdom of Israel had been split into two distinct sections (See 1 KINGS 12:19-20). The term Jew was applied only to a remnant of the tribe of Judah which returned from the Babylonian captivity to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. They numbered approximately 49,000 (See EZRA 2:64-65).
It is claimed by some that the northern ten-tribed House of Israel and the two-tribed southern House of Judah were re-united before Judah was captured by Nebuchadnezzar. However, Jeremiah tells us that the whole of the northern Kingdom was ultimately removed.
Even if there had been some amalgamation under Hezekiah, it would not affect the fact that only a small number returned from the Babylonian captivity. What happened to the remainder - a larger portion of the House of Judah - which remained in Babylon? And what, then, of the ten-tribed northern House, with no scriptural records regarding a return to Palestine? Those who claim Jewry are Israel, must admit that the Jews of today descended from the 49,000 only. Surely the larger section of the original nation has risen even greater to the Israel name and blessings.
The Anglo-Saxon nations have been divided exactly as prophesied here into two great groups. From them has been formed a great nation, the United States of America, and a great company of nations, the British Commonwealth of Nations.
These prophecies have never been fulfilled in the small remnant of Judah; the Jews today representing only about 12 million people.
Israel’s name to be great:
"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing" (GENESIS 12:2).
It is interesting to note that the only nation that has been named great is Great Britain. This is even more remarkable when we find that the word "Britain" means "Covenant Land" in Hebrew. God’s covenant People were Israel.
To be a blessed and protected people:
"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee... And I will bless them that bless thee, and I will curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" (GENESIS 12:2-3).
Many have marvelled why we have had an apparently charmed existence as a people over the last thousand years or more. The Anglo-Saxon-Celtic people live in free countries, have never been defeated in war, and have undoubtedly been blessed above all the nations of the earth. Our deliveries in time of war have been miraculous. Most people can remember the miracle of Dunkirk, when almost 250,000 men were rescued from the beaches of France. Field Marshal, Lord Alan Brooke, said: "Had it not been for the guiding hand of Almighty vengeance, the British Expeditionary Force would never have left the shores of France."
Israel to be a colonising people:
"And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed" (GENESIS 28:14).
The opening statement of this promise is: Israel would be as the dust of the earth. In other words, a great multitude. This is true for the Anglo-Saxon people, but it is not true for the remnant of Judah. It is also true that the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic people have been the greatest colonising people of the earth.
