THE NAME: CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLIES [EUROPE] INTERNATIONAL

Our logoOur name reflects several aspects of our assembly: we are Christians, based on the Bible, God's Word, standing firmly in the tradition of the reformers and revivalists that walked before us, including Martin Luther (the Protestant Reformation), John Wesley (the Methodist Church), General Booth (the Salvation Army), just to mention a few. We uphold Protestant values and profess "salvation through Christ only" and "the Bible only" as the basis of our faith.

As we are organised in house groups, we adopted the name "Assemblies" to indicate that we are many groups but one administration.

Finally, "International" indicates that we are spread over several countries, fulfilling the Great Commission to bring the light of the Gospel to the lost sheep of Israel (MATTHEW 10:6) and be a light to the world.

THE FLAME

The flame was the original logo of our assemblies when the foundations of this work in Christ were laid (see History section). It represents the Holy Spirit as He filled the disciples on the Day of Pentecost (ACTS chapter 2): "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them."

THE SWORD

The sword is another symbol taken from Scripture. It stands for the Word of God, which is "quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (HEBREWS 4:12). The Bible commands Christians to put on the armour of God, including "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God"(EPHESIANS 6:17).

THE TRUMPET

The trumpet symbolises the work of Christians in this world - to proclaim the Gospel and to warn sinners of the coming Judgment upon the world. "Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand" (JOEL 2:1).

THE SHIELD

The logo has the shape of a shield, symbolising God's protection provided to the Christian as he stands by faith (ROMANS 11:20). This "shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" is also part of our spiritual armour (EPHESIANS 6:16).

THE RED COLOUR

Red symbolises the Blood of Christ that was shed for our sins and diseases on the cross of Calvary 2000 years ago. On Judgment Day, only those can stand before God that "have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (REVELATION 7:14). For Jesus said, "this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins" (MATTHEW26:28).
